A day in the yard...

We spent the first part of this long holiday weekend out in our yard working on the chicken coop (or chicken house as Ezra calls it). Its slow going, but it seems every project we take on is somewhat slow moving.

The kids love getting in on the building projects ~which is part of the slowing up process (but welcomed).

The chickens are growing and have been spending longer and longer periods of time out in the yard exploring. They love to stay together~no renegades in that bunch! Today they spent a good 5 or 6 hours just wandering around doing what little chicks do.

  2. Looking good! How many did you end up with? I see at least 5 in your picture.

Our are outside in the henhouse with a lamp on - so far so good - they've only been out one night. We have company coming and figured they didn't want to sleep with chickens. :)

How did your pies do at the contest?

  5. Alyssa~ We ended up with 5. We were going to just have 4 but one was acting very lathargic and I didn't want to sell it to someone. Its totally normal now although just a little behind the others in growth.
Yesie~ You guys live in Cincy right? Do you have family down here? I think I read that you were at the horse park recently too!
