Making an apple pie after school ~ while snacking on popcorn, of course. We absolutely love our life here at the Smith Homestead.

Even when the sour cream and apple butter fall out of dad and son's hands at the same time.

50 Life Lessons ~ Day 3

21~ Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save anything for a special occasion. Today is special enough.
22~ Overprepare, then go with the flow.
23~ Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24~ Start saving 10 percent for retirement as soon as you get your first paycheck.
25~ No one else in in charge of your happiness. You are the CEO of your joy.
26~Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"
27 ~ Always choose life.
28~ Forgive everyone everything.
29~ What other people think of you is none of your business.
30~ The passage of time heals almost everything. Give time time.

  4. Love the lessons, especially #21 which I followed today when I sewed something with fabric I was tempted to save but used. Pie! My apple tree is bursting, thanks for the pie inspiration. Yum!
