Down Time & Unexpected News

Lots of down time around here. Lazy summer days just building forts, riding bikes, barely cooking, playing with toys that have been tucked away for months, feeding the chickens, and reading lots of books. Most evenings the boys pull out their sleeping bags and settle in for an evening movie we pick up at the library. Sometimes this includes popcorn and hot cocoa but not everytime.

Part of our "down time" is due to the slow pace our summers usually take on. But this year our summer has taken on a particularly lazy feel becuase of another reason...I am pregnant!
A couple of months ago we found out we are having another little one in our family. As stunned as we were, we are so thrilled. Unfortunately pregnancies don't like me too much~ lots of nausea, puking, tiredness, and so on.... It has been this way with each pregnancy~usually up to the last day. Ugh...
I have tried all of those supposed remedies out there...all with no avail. I have the prescriptions too which I try to avoid as much as possible unless it all becomes a bit too much (like last Monday's throwing up every hour from morning till night).
But despite the sickness, in the end it is well worth it to have another precious life in our family.
The due date is estimated at the end of February~given my two time record for being well overdue, I suspect I'll deliver at the beginning of March.
I hope to be back in a routine of blogging once Canaan returns to school at the end of the month. Until then, posts may be sporatic at best....

  2. Oh my goodness!!! That is soooo awesome. I will be praying for you and especially for strength when you are feeling so yucky. Please don't hesitate to call if you need anything. I should be splitting my time between Lex and Xenia for the next month and now without a business, I have a bit more time to help out friends in need :-) Give our congrats to all your boys, especially Mike, hee, hee!!

  11. Hey! I loved this post...sounds all too familiar. I've never met you, only know you through Kristie, but our lives are parallel right now...also pregnant, also tired, puky, etc. Also due the end of February, with the tendency to go late! Should be interesting! Congrats!!!

  12. Wow! I am so excited for you! Sorry about feeling sick. I really understand. Morning sickness sounded almost "cute" until I had it. (Maybe I'm the only one who ever thought it was cute.) Enjoy the parts that you can, and don't worry about the blog... we all understand, and it will still be here! Congratulations!!
